As a student of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) you will have the opportunity to learn at one of the major centres of tertiary education in Ireland. You will join a community of around 8,000 students and as that student, you can be any age, from any country or background and study in a format that suits your requirements.

We offer you the opportunity to build your qualifications over time and add to them at any point in your life. Having completed our international Foundation course, you are guaranteed a place on a Bachelor Degree programme and can proceed to an Honours Bachelors Degree and post-graduate studies. All of these programmes are validated by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) and conform to the national qualifications and Bologna framework. This means that your GMIT qualification will have international recognition.

The Institute wants to provide you with opportunities to develop yourself so that you can contribute to the economic, cultural and social life of any environment in which you live. The wide range of social, cultural and sporting clubs and societies of GMIT will give you the opportunity to build skills, competencies and friendships which will enhance and enrich your personal and professional development.
