September 2010	Fergus Rea, Overseas Development Adviser, International Office, participates in the Enterprise Ireland Trade & Investment Mission to Russia which was led by The President, Ms Mary McAleese.
August 2010	GMIT is awarded funding from the EU Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Programme to run an international Doctoral programme in Marine Ecosystem Health and Conservation.
March 2010
	GMIT signs new educational agreements with two third-level institutions in the US (Virginia Tech University) and (Southern Virginia Higher Education Centre), which will facilitate the exchange of Irish and American students as well as staff in the three institutions.
February 2010
	GMIT, AIT and WIT sign an agreement with the Technical Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will see more than 1,000 Saudi students enter Irish higher education over the next four years.

	GMIT signs a major partnership agreement with Nanchang University, China at a formal reception in Galway witnessed by, among others, the Minister for Education & Science Batt O’Keeffe, and the First Secretary and Head of the Education Section at the Chinese Embassy in Dublin, Professor Huiqing Dong.

	GMIT, along with AIT and WIT, signs a lucrative contract with the Technical Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) of Saudi Arabia, which will see over 60 Saudi scholarship holders commence study at the Dublin Road campus later this summer.
