COUNSELLING SERVICES AT GMIT
What We Offer
We provide a safe space where you can come and talk in private about any issue of concern for you. Such concern may be a big or small issue. It may be as a result of a crisis in your life, or some matter that has been a source of anxiety for a time.
This is where you meet the counsellor on a one to one basis. Sometimes a single session is sufficient to sort out an immediate issue. In other cases you may need a number of sessions to help tease out a problem and decide what you want to do about it.
If you are struggling with more complex issues you may find more in depth therapy is required in order to understand yourself more fully. Together with your counsellor you decide what is most useful for you at this particular time of your life.
The standard session lasts 50-60 minutes and where ongoing work is being done you will meet with the counsellor every week or fortnight for an agreed period of time.
