Castlebar has plenty to offer students who like the outdoors such as walking routes and good fishing and angling. It has an abundance of nightlife with plenty pubs and a range of trendy cafes and restaurants.  Festivals include the world famous International Four Days Walks and the Guinness Castlebar Blues Festival. 

As a student in Castlebar, you have easy access to The Linenhall Arts Centre which hosts a variety of arts events throughout the year, from performances, to exhibitions and workshops.  See your favourite band or comedian perform in The Royal Theatre and Event Centre.

For those with an interest in heritage and culture, the Museum of Country Life is home to the national collection of objects representing the traditional way of life in Ireland since 1850.
