About seven years ago my husband and I decided to relocate to Belmullet from Dublin. Three years ago I decided to apply through the CAO for the Psychiatric Nursing degree programme at GMIT Castlebar. I had worked as a care assistant for more than sixteen years and it seemed to be a natural next step. | |

There are so any dimensions to this course with literature and topographical writing, history, archaeology and built environment, earth processes, natural environment, ecology and environmental management with rural development, society and nature, and tourism and folklore. | |

 | Alan Judge, Kildare/Castlebar Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Outdoor Education (President of the Students' Union, GMIT, Castlebar) I found out about this course when I finished secondary school. I was more concerned with kayaking and did a course in the Kinsale Further Education Centre (KFEC), gaining a FETAC award in Outdoor Education. I then travelled the world for two years and on my return applied to study the Outdoor Education degree in GMIT Castlebar as a mature student. |
