GMIT Business Students visit Wayfair Galway

Fourth year students from the Bachelor of Business (Hons) degree at GMIT Galway campus spent a morning with staff at Wayfair in Galway on Tuesday, 13th February, 2018 where they received presentations on a range of HR topics including:

  • career anchors
  • recruitment
  • performance management
  • retention
  • rewards

Wayfair is a multibillion-dollar company offering one of the world’s largest online selections of furniture, home furnishings, décor and goods.

They employ over 160 staff at their European Operations Headquarters on the Tuam Road, Galway, including many GMIT graduates.

The class would like to thank Marc Jennings, BBS (Hons) 2010, for hosting them.

“This was a totally different learning experience” according to lecturer Colm Kelleher who organised the visit.

"It is not often that students have the opportunity to get out of the classroom and see for themselves what a busy professional workplace looks like. Hopefully, the visit will motivate them to excel as they complete the final weeks of their degree”.
