Why Study Administration and Information Systems?
The Bachelor of Business in Administration and Information Systems programme focuses on the application of information systems within a business environment.
This highly practical programme combines information technology and business modules. Students receive a thorough grounding in business subjects to give them an overview of the environment they will be working in. They also specialise in the IT applications which graduates will need for employment in a modern enterprise. Students will develop skills in advanced business applications, problem solving and management studies.

Career Opportunities
Graduates will be capable of undertaking a wide range of administrative and management duties in modern technological offices. The inclusion of the option of studying modern European languages and the opportunity to study abroad will aid students’ mobility within the European Union.
Other Essential Information
Graduates can progress to honours degrees in the areas of business or information systems depending on their interests and aptitudes. They can transfer to the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Information Systems Management or the Bachelor of Business (Honours) degree programme in GMIT and other similar degrees in other colleges and universities in Ireland and elsewhere.
Such transfers are dependent on results and on comparability of courses. Linkages with EU and US colleges also open up exciting possibilities for further study.
(Students may apply to the Registrar for a Higher Certificate in Business after successful completion of two years of the programme.)
