MASTER OF BUSINESS IN STRATEGY AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT


GMIT's School of Business offers a one year Master of Business in Strategy and Innovation Management. This programme is offered on a full-time basis and runs from September to September.

Places on the programme are restricted to 25 students, and the programme is designed to produce graduates who can aspire to middle management positions in a range of enterprise types.

The world of business has changed dramatically in the last ten years, significantly different management skills are now required. Consequently the importance of a well qualified supply of managers who can equip both themselves and their workforces for what are the main future challenges, must be recognised.

Students on this programme, in addition to the taught modules on the programme, may also undertake a work placement where possible.

Programme Structure
The Master of Business in Strategy and Innovation Management will be offered on a semesterised basis and learners on the programme will be required to undertake ten modules, including both a dissertation and, where possible, a work placement.

Three recurring themes have informed the design of the programme: strategic thinking, innovation, and managing in innovatively focussed enterprises.

These three pillars are constantly explored throughout the programme from both theoretical and practical viewpoints, ensuring graduates of the programme receive exposure to numerous perspectives. The practical orientation will be further supported by seminars and lectures from various guest speakers.

Strategy
Modules will include:

  • International Business

Management
Modules will include:

  • Contemporary Issues for Management

  • Project Management

  • Social Psychology for Management

Innovation
Modules will include:

  • Organisation Change and Innovation

  • Innovation Management

In addition to the modules specified here, learners on the programme, must also undertake a Research Methodology module, a Dissertation and, where possible, a Work Placement."
