GRANTS

Information on the current student grant schemes, including the student grant application form, is available online at www.studentfinance.ie and from the GMIT website. Information on tuition costs and fees for GMIT can be obtained from the Fees Office, Dublin Road campus, Galway.

SCHOLARSHIPS

A number of scholarships are provided to students each year based on their academic performance and/or on their contribution to the college and wider community.

GMIT SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS/BURSARIES

These scholarships/bursaries are aimed at students who are playing at a high level. Information and application forms can be downloaded here. The application date has been extended to 22 November 2011.

GMIT CULTURAL BURSARY

This award is made to a student who has been involved in or contributed to a significant cultural achievement.

SOUTH WEST MAYO DEVELOPMENT COMPANY BURSARIES

These bursaries are available to full and part-time students who live in the South West Mayo Development Company area (see map). Click to read info on the bursaries, the data protection, and application forms.

GENERAL BURSARIES/SCHOLARSHIPS

Financial Aid

Two support funds are available to assist students on the Castlebar Campus – the Student Assistance Fund (SAF) and the Student Support Fund (SSF).

The Student Assistance Fund is financed by the HEA/EU and provides support to full-time students whose financial situation may affect their ability to continue their studies. All supporting documentation needs to be submitted with your application. All applicants will be interviewed. Criteria and Application forms can be downloaded here. (Available  October 2011)

The Student Support Fund is financed by the Institute and by contributions. Students are required to complete an application form which details their financial need. All applicants will be interviewed. Applicants should download and complete the assessment form before interview. Criteria and Application forms can be downloaded here.
