BACHELOR OF BUSINESS
Why Study Business?
This programme produces graduates with a comprehensive knowledge of the key functional areas of business and organisational management (including marketing, finance, operations, MIS and personnel), with particular reference to small and medium enterprises (SME) in the information age. Students will acquire a range of analytical, applied technical and personal skills and will be capable of taking on a diverse set of junior management and administrative roles in a variety of organisations.

Statistics, Marketing, Communications, PC Applications, Accounting, Business Mathematics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Law, Management, Business Information Systems, Social & Organisational Psychology, Personnel Management, Business Research; Operations Management, Small Business Management, Management Information Systems, Decision Making & Quantitative Analysis, and Organisational Behaviour.
Career Opportunities
Graduates work in industrial and commercial enterprises in the accounting, financial services, marketing and administrative fields. Alternatively, they may continue their academic studies to honours degree level and/or membership of a relevant professional body. Graduates with suitable experience may progress to a career at senior management level. Every encouragement is given to students to start their own businesses.
Students may also have the opportunity to gain an award in Tourism.
Follow-on Studies
Graduates can transfer to honours degree programmes at this or other institutes and universities in Ireland and elsewhere. Links with EU institutes are opening up exciting new possibilities for further study.
