Why Study Heritage?
From the prehistoric past to modern museums, heritage embraces the wild environment, the landscape of the countryside, artistic achievement and historical experience. Heritage is a leading concept in conservation and tourism, and it is also being increasingly integrated into regional and local planning for the benefit of communities. The programme has a broad appeal.

Programme Modules
Programme modules may include the following:

Earth Processes, History, Rural Development, Folklore and Folklife, Language and Communications, Computer Applications, Ecological Studies, Society and Nature, Literature and Archaeology, Natural Environment, Topographical Writing, Ecology, Sustainable Tourism Management, Geographical Information Systems, Built Environment, Rural Tourism and Research Methods.

Career Opportunities
Heritage graduates go on to work in museums and heritage centres, in community development programmes, on archaeological excavations, in conservation projects, and a variety of other opportunities exists in the public and private sectors.

Follow-on Studies
Students who complete the BA (Level 7) in Heritage Studies will be eligible to proceed to the BA (Honours) Degree in Heritage Studies.
