SPECIAL PURPOSE AWARD IN NURSING


Why Study for the Certificate in Science (Nursing) Special Purpose Award?
The nursing profession sets a high value on the continuing professional development of its members. Consequently, many registered nurses wish to study for a degree in nursing. This programme has been designed for nurses who have completed a certificate level registration programme in nursing and now wish to pursue a programme that will prepare them to study at degree level. Successful completion of this programme will enable nurses to apply for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Nursing at GMIT, Castlebar.

Fees
This programme is not included in the Department of Health and Children’s Free Fee initiative. Currently the fee for the programme is €850 which is reviewed annually. It is each candidate’s responsibility to seek clarification from his/her employer regarding fee support.

An Bord Altranais PIN must be included with the application.
