INTRODUCTION TO DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND CIVIL ENGINEERING
The building and civil engineering industry provides employment opportunities for both male and female graduates in the fields of Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Property, Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying and Forest Management.
The 4 year Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Construction Management is designed to enable successful graduates to be employed in middle management roles in construction companies as professional construction managers.
The 3 year Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering is designed to enable successful graduates to be employed as higher level technicians within the civil engineering sector, within professional offices, with civil engineering construction companies and within the public sector.
We now offer a 2 year add-on programme that leads to a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering.
The 3 year Bachelor Degree in Construction Economics and Quantity Surveying is designed to prepare graduates to work as technicians in professional quantity surveying practices or with construction companies and property developers.
We now offer a 1 year add-on programme that leads to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Construction Economics and Quantity Surveying.
The 3 year Bachelor Degree in Architectural Technology is designed to prepare graduates to work as architectural technologists in architectural practices or with construction companies, property developers and local authorities.
We now offer a 1 year add-on programme that leads to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Architectural Technology.
The 3 year Bachelor Degree in Forest Management and the Environment is designed to prepare graduates to work as foresters in private forestry companies and in state and semi-state forestry bodies.
The 4 year Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Property Studies provides students with a practical and academic education which will prepare them to practice professionally as valuers, estate agents and property mangers within the private and public sectors.
For those interested in Post-graduate study, we offer a taught Masters Degree in Environmental Systems.
