Computer and Electronic Engineering - Chris Talbot

I came to GMIT as a mature student with the aim of broadening my skillset and improving my chances of finding long term employment. I am graduating in 2014 with a BEng (Hons) in Computer and Electronic Engineering. The course has given me the skills required to work in the high-tech industry in the areas of software, hardware and microcontroller systems.

The course is designed with input from the leading technology companies and this has given me the skills I need to forge a successful career.

The highlight of the course was my six month work placement. I worked as a web and database designer for a small start-up company in Galway. The experience gained has been invaluable both for myself and my CV.

The job market looks really good. I have my passport to work in Galway, Ireland or the world.

Getting my Honours Degree in Computer and Electronic Engineering was a great decision for me.
