Accommodation

Finding somewhere to live

Leagan Gaeilge

Once you have accepted a place in GMIT, you need to organise somewhere to live.

For most people, college means moving to a new town or city and trying to find accommodation for the first time.

Private Rented Accommodation

The GMIT Students Union has a checklist of recommendations surrounding your accommodation choices in Galway and Mayo.

At the begining of each academic year an online accommodation listings service is provided by GMIT Students Union on their website.

It provides a list of the different types of accommodation (houses, flats, full and partial board) available near the Galway, Mayo, Letterfrack and Mountbellew campuses.

Guidelines on rental arrangements are published in the Students’ Guide and Welfare Booklet issued by GMIT Students’ Union.

Information on Tenant Rights is also available online on the GMIT Students Union website.

Student Villages

A number of purpose-built student villages are located near GMIT Galway and Mayo campuses.

These student villages are owned and run by private operators.
