BACHELOR OF ARTS (HONOURS) IN FINE ART
Main Areas of Study
Studio Practice in Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture; Art History and Critical Theory; Photography and Digital Media.
Other Essential Information
Each of these disciplines has its own staffing, structure, and space: shared elements create dialogue and interaction within the fine-art student body.
Students are encouraged to embark on ideas-led as well as specialisation-led approaches to work.
There are also lectures by visiting professional artists through the professional practice programme.
Post-graduate Studies
GMIT honours (level 8) qualifications are recognised world wide for post-graduate entry. Depending on the areas of specialisation and the standard achieved in the learner's practice and portfolio, most art and design related post-graduate opportunities are open to a graduate of our level 8 programme, both nationally and internationally.
