This programme has been accepted by the Teaching Council for progression to the Higher Diploma in Education, on completion of which graduates will be qualified to teach history to Leaving Certicate students in second-level schools.
Post-graduate Studies
GMIT Honours (level 8) Qualifications are recognised world wide for postgraduate entry.
Graduates with a minimum of a 2nd Class Honours in their level 8 award may apply for entry to GMIT’s level 9 Master of Arts degree (MA by Research). Progression to a Level 10 Doctoral Degree is also possible.
Graduates are also eligible to apply for a range of postgraduate courses in areas such as History, Archaeology, Geography, Museum Studies, Urban & Regional Planning, Rural Development, Archival Studies, Librarianship, and Languages.
