Buymedia Goes Live Following Investment Boost of €100,000

GMIT Set to Double its Innovation Hub (iHub) Space

GMIT is set to double the size of its Innovation Hub (iHub) building at the Galway Campus following €5m funding approval from Enterprise Ireland.  Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, announced the funding details during a visit to GMIT recently.  Enterprise Ireland will contribute €3m towards the cost of the building extension while GMIT will provide €500,000.  Enterprise Ireland also approved funding of €1.8m for the New Frontiers Programme 2016 – 2020 which is delivered in GMIT’s Innovation Hubs in Galway & Mayo.  To read full article CLICK HERE

 

Medistori Health Organiser Gets Distribution Deal

Olive O'Connor (MediStori), who was a participant on the GMIT New Frontiers Programme, has started a new contract with distributor, United Drug, which will see her product go on sale in 80 pharmacies around the country this week. Olive also appeared on the RTÉ television series, Dragons' Den - Ireland last month securing €80,000 from investor Barry O’Sullivan in return for a 25% stake in the company. RTE takes a 20% Stake in VT Networks

RTE has taken a near 20% stake in VT Networks, which is developing a network to power the internet of things revolution in Ireland. VT Networks, founded by Mark Bannon and Will Ferguson, were participants on the GMIT 2015 New Frontiers Programme. They raised €1.2m in January from investors including Dara O’Mahony (Dome Telecom), Noel Kelly (Kentz Co-Founder), Mark Ryan (former Accenture Careers in Ireland boss) and Patrick Joyce (Suretank Ltd). Based in Cedar Park, in Westport, the company had its origins out of a home office in Tonranny in 2011, when it was just the brainchild of the married duo.  With Jens’ background in trucks in his native South Africa and his and Sorcha’s expertise in software development, the couple created ‘TruckScience’.
