BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONOURS) IN FURNITURE DESIGN AND WOOD TECHNOLOGY
The programme equips students with the theoretical and practical techniques which will enable them to function as professionals within the furniture and wood products industry. Projects are structured to simulate real-world situations, which require the students to engage in creative problem solving activities and draw on their knowledge and experience.

Programme Modules
CAD/CAM 2, Project Management, Automation & Control, Management & Strategy, Major Project and Operations Management 3.
Elective modules are chosen from Professional Placement, Applied Graphics, Interior Architecture and Timber Frame & Joinery.
Career Opportunities
All projects are directly linked to industry, either in Ireland or internationally. This programme is recognised by the Teaching Council (TC) for progression to the Higher Diploma in Arts in Education (Technology), on completion of which graduates will be qualified to teach Technology. An application has been made to the TC to also include Construction Studies and Design and Communication Graphics in the subjects that graduates of the diploma will be eligible to teach.
