GMIT is pleased to announce it is now offering a new three-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Film and Documentary, commencing September 2012.

This new level 8 programme replaces the current Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television (level 7) which has been running very successfully in the Cluain Mhuire campus since 1997. The new honours programme responds to student demand and the fact that increasing numbers of graduates of the ordinary degree are being offered places on post-graduate programmes.

Celine Curtin, Programme Chair, says the honours programme is a great opportunity for GMIT students to hone their skills.

“It also provides students with ongoing access to the film and television industry as GMIT works closely with local and national production companies and organisations to meet the needs of the industry.”

Mary MacCague, Head of GMIT School of Humanities, adds: “This three-year honours degree will enhance GMIT’s status as a provider of quality first-class media education and as a contributor of highly skilled and motivated graduates to the very competitive cultural and media production industry.

Applications for the new Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Film and Documentary can be made through the CAO.
