PhD student wins national award for research on 'Best waste management'

PhD student Jan Gottsche (centre) from Oranmore, Co Galway has won ‘Best Waste and Resource Management' presentation at the recent Environ 2015 conference in IT Sligo.

The research is co-funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and Carey Developments Ltd under the Cleaner Greener Production Programme.

The aim of the project is to develop a construction-phase resource efficiency toolkit for the Irish construction sector. This has involved close collaboration with industry (Carey Developments Ltd and BAM Building Ireland) through GMIT's academic-industry collaborative framework.
