FREEDOM OF INFORMATION GMIT is a prescribed body for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1997 and the Freedom of Information (Amendment) Act 2003 (“Freedom of Information Legislation”). Freedom of Information Legislation provides that every person is entitled to (a) access official records held by public bodies prescribed under the Act, including GMIT; (b) have personal information held on them corrected or updated where such information is incomplete, incorrect or misleading; and (c) to be given reasons for decisions taken by public bodies that affect them.
