WORK PLACEMENTS

Work placement is a feature of many of the programmes in GMIT.  The aim of work placement is to give students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and to acquire the skills needed in the workplace.

The Hotel School and Galway Chamber of Commerce have begun developing a strategy on work placements in the retail sector.  This partnership will give GMIT students easier and more immediate access to employers for work placements, part-time employment and career opportunities.

Each year, almost 500 Hotel School students undertake work placements all over the world, and the Links Office oversees the placement and monitoring of these students.
