ADMISSIONS OFFICE Special Notice to Applicants for CAO Course GA271 PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENTS Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television, GA271 Portfolio assessments will take place for applicants to the Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television, GA271, from Wednesday, 24th March to Friday, 26th March at GMIT, Cluain Mhuire. All applicants will be notified of the date and time of their assessment by letter; we will be issuing these letters the week beginning 15th March. CAO Applications Applications to enter year one of all Higher Certificate (Level 6), Ordinary Bachelor Degree (Level 7), and Honours Bachelor Degree (Level 8) programmes at GMIT are made through the Central Applications Office. Guidelines and Policies CAO Alert List The CAO Alert List contains details of new and cancelled CAO programmes at GMIT, as well as other news and information relevant to those applying for a place in GMIT through the CAO in 2010. Portfolio Requirements/Assessment A portfolio and assessment is required for entry to: Direct Applications Applications for entry to add-on Ordinary Bachelor Degree or Honours Bachelor Degree programmes at GMIT, or to transfer to the second or subsequent year of one of our programmes, should be made directly to the Admissions Office. In August 2010, GMIT will once again be offer an Enabling Maths programme to those students who have obtained good Leaving Certificate points but cannot proceed to higher education because they have not received a passing grade in Mathematics. Further information, an application form, and course dates will be posted here later. GMIT has a number of scholarship schemes including Academic Scholarships, Sports Scholarships, the President's Award, and the Special Sports and Cultural Achievement (SSCA) Scheme.
