This award includes a number of modules including, Introduction to the Retail Industry, Introduction to Economics and Retail Finance, Communications, Management Principles, Customer Care, Consumer Behaviour, Accounting, Learning to Learn, Marketing Principles, Management Information Systems, Retail Property Development and Visual Merchandising Design and Atmospherics, Etailing, Contemporary Issues in Retail Management, Fashion Retail, Training for the Retail Industry, Introduction to Business Law and Enterprise, IT and Business Maths and International Language.
Career Opportunities
Successful candidates can expect to work as managers or supervisors in small and medium retail outlets. This programme was developed in conjunction with Retail leaders in the west of Ireland.
Other Essential Information
Work Placement

After the second year examinations, students undertake an accredited 30 week industrial placement, organised by the LINKS office in conjunction with the student. A relevant industry project must be completed in respect of this placement.

If students are considering an international career the school would encourage students to study an International language during their three years of study and to complete their international placement in a location that supports the development of the language.
Follow-on Studies
It is possible to pursue studies at BA honours level in the school. Students who are successful in their final examinations will be considered for entry to the final year of the BA (Honours) programme.
