2D Studio Practice 3 (Painting/Photography/Printmaking)

Description

Research and Narrative: This module places emphasis on the development of research, process and conceptual skills within the disciplines of Painting, Photography and Printmaking. Emerging from a solid grounding in the practical aspects of these media, ideas and experimental approaches to image making are explored through a number of interlinked projects. Research methods and processes are integrated into studio projects as well as relevant lectures on contemporary art practice.  

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify a personal voice through an evolution of thinking and enquiry, experimentation and creativity in studio work.

  2. Demonstrate an informed knowledge of the materials and processes related to two dimensional media with a development of skills and techniques.

  3. Indicate an ability to articulate ideas, concepts and critical awareness verbally to lecturers and within the peer group.

  4. Demonstrate an awareness of the relationship of their creative output to the wider field of contemporary art practice.

  5. Display an ability to gather and process research material in the development of project work.
