Description

This module will provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work at an operational level within an accommodation department. It will be delivered through a mixture of theoretical and applied practical settings

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate an ability to organise as well as carry out the servicing of different categories of guest rooms and public areas to the standard required by a commercial accommodation establishment

  2. Identify and understand best practice within the accommodation department of a hotel with an emphasis on current trends within the accommodation sector

  3. Demonstrate appropriate customer care and the importance of communication between hotel departments

  4. Understand the role, significance and financial contribution of the accommodation operations within the overall running of a tourism and hospitality enterprise

  5. Understand the principles of interior design and planned maintenance systems
