Applied Research Project
Description
The Applied Research Project module allows the student the option to undertake a research project on Civil Engineering topic which incorporates the use of software. It will improve the students' writing skills and provide them with a structured approach to reporting on technical and management issues.
Learning Outcomes
Research and write a comprehensive document explaining a complex area of study in a suitable format and communicate this to others in a verbal and written presentation.
Develop a hypothesis and plan a strategy for proving the hypothesis within time and resource constraints
Evaluate appropriate civil engineering software and their application to civil engineering.
Synthesise results and offer appropriate conclusions.
Demonstrate the independent learning ability required for continuing professional development.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of a specific area of study.
