1. CAO Applications/First Year Entry
If you want to apply to enter the first year of any of the following courses, you need to apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO) www.cao.ie
Higher Certificate (Level 6) programmes
Ordinary Bachelor Degree (Level 7) programmes
Honours Bachelor Degree (Level 8) programmes
Find out about the new Leaving Certificate Grading Scale and Revised Common Points Scale applicable to students who sit the Leaving Certificate from 2017 at www.transition.ie
Students from other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) applying to transfer to the second or other stage of a course will be considered, subject to availability of places. Applicants must have passed the stage examinations and have achieved the learning outcomes for progression to the GMIT programme.
On-time transfer applications from suitable candidates for entry to Year 2, 3 or 4 of our programmes closed on the 31st May 2017. However GMIT will continue to accept online applications up to the 30th of June 2017. These applications will be deemed Late Applications and will only be considered should places remain available. GMIT is no longer accepting transfer applications for the following courses:
- BSc in Furniture Design & Manufacture (L7 & L8)
- BSC in Furniture & Wood Technology (L7 & L8)
- BSc (Hons) in Medical Science
- BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology & Biopharmaceutical Science
- BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Environmental Management
- BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering
Holders of FETAC Level 6 Awards are eligible for consideration for progression to Stage 2 of agreed cognate programmes. On-time Advanced Entry Applications from suitable candidates for Entry to Year 2 and 3 of our programmes closed on the 31st May 2017. However GMIT will continue to accept online applications up to the 30th of June 2017. These applications will be deemed Late Applications and will only be considered should places remain available. 3. International Students
Non-EU, Non-Resident applicants or applicants from institutions with a bilateral agreement with GMIT are required to apply direct to the GMIT International Office
