Galway Wind Park Scholarship
Galway Wind Park (GWP) is Ireland’s largest onshore wind farm. Based in Connemara, it produces enough renewable energy to power more than 140,000 Irish homes.
The Galway Wind Park Scholarship Programme aims to maximise value for local communities by funding third-level education opportunities for local people living within 20 kilometres of Galway Wind Park.
Each successful scholarship recipient will receive 50% of any student contribution fee owed, to be paid over the duration of their course to a maximum of three years for undergraduates, and one year full-time or two years part-time for postgraduate courses.
Successful scholarship recipients who are eligible for a grant will be awarded the equivalent sum. Students must also successfully complete their exams each semester.
Scholarship Fund Eligibility
To be considered for the GWP Scholarship, GMIT applicants must:
- Hold an unconditional offer of a place, as a new or continuing student, for the current academic year at GMIT.
- Have a home address within 20 kilometres of Galway Wind Park.
