Automation

Automation offers manufacturers the opportunity to improve their performance regardless of their size. This module introduces the learner to the concept of automation, the capabilities of automation tools/techniques, and helps them understand the possibilities it offers their industry.

1. Demonstrate an understanding of automation in the context of the furniture/wood products manufacturing industry.

2. Distinguish between various automation methods/tools/machines and where they may be applied in the furniture/wood products manufacturing industry.

3. Operate a selection of automated tools/methods to a basic operator level.

4. Build simple automated solutions using a number of methods/tools integrated together.
