1. Miriam Innes
What skills or knowledge did you learn during this course that you have found most useful in your career to date? Having the sustainability to spend long hours in the art studios, solely focused on creating and eventually completing a project to a deadline. Learning the skills of critiquing your own work, again and again, trusting in your own knowledge and self awareness that the work is complete. Walking away with joy in your heart and free from self doubt.
How would you describe your time while studying here? As a student we were encouraged to investigate mediums, faculties and a wide variety of practices to achieve the outcomes we needed to achieve. I found the staff to be helpful, generous with sharing their own skills and knowledge and they also encouraged me to try hard, look deeper and to constantly continue to improve.
What advice would you give to a student who is considering a 3rd level course in the area of Creative Arts & Media at ATU? If you are deeply motivated and passionate about your creative path in life, want to invent your own life's journey, make new creative discoveries, utilizing art as a form to change perspectives and attitudes in the world we occupy, I would undoubtedly consider taking that first step and beginning a course in an area of the Creative Arts & Media.

2. Martina Passman
What skills or knowledge did you learn during this course that you have found most useful in your career to date? It broadened my Arts practice and gave me the opportunity to experiment and research with other techniques that I hadn't used before, such as sculptural installation and mixed media. I had initially trained as a painter and had a Diploma in paint and print.
It gave me confidence in putting funding applications together and it also gave me the knowledge I needed to set up and run a business. I am now a self-employed Artist.
How would you describe your time while studying here? My time studying here were some of my happiest and most fulfilling years. My Tutors were excellent, knowledgeable and I believe I have been trained by some of the best Lecturers in the country.
What advice would you give to a student who is considering a 3rd level course in the area of Creative Arts & Media at ATU? Be prepared to be a self-employed Artist. Business study is important. Attend all of the lectures. Get as much knowledge from your Tutors as possible as they are there for you and to educate you. Take lots of notes.
