Construction Law and Industrial Relations

Description

The aim of this module is for students to examine and evaluate the key legal principles and obligations in relation to the legal environment of the construction sector.The students will also analyse the impact that legal obligations have on the construction management process.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply management methods both legal and procedural , as appropriate , to management within the Construction Sector.

  2. Formulate decisions and solutions taking into account the legal implications and best management practices to adhere to the construction management Industry. 

  3. Analyse the impact that legal obligations have on construction management process 

  4. Enhance professional competence through increased confidence in verbal and written presentations.

  5. Appraise and evaluate Industrial Relations procedures taking into account employment legislation and ADR methods.

  6. Critically evaluate health and safety management procedures on a variety of projects and reflect on personal responsibility for health, safety and wellbeing.
