Contemporary Art Practices Self-Directed Project

Description

A year- long module in which learners undertake comprehensive self-directed art research and practice based on independent enquiry into a selected subject/theme. The process and outcome are contextualised within the critical framework of contemporary painting and visual art practices

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify a framework for self-initiated enquiry that integrates individual set goals with appropriate theoretical concepts related to contemporary art practices.

  2. Demonstrate the ability to respond and engage in personal and group seminars, and tutorials.

  3. Take responsibility and exercise autonomy through self-directed study.

  4. Utilise technical skills and competence in workshop practice and materials.

  5. Demonstrate best practice in relation to studio safety.

  6. Be able to critically evaluate and critique their working practices and results.

  7. Be fully competent in professional art practice and the presentation of their art work.
