Contemporary Art Practices Self-Directed Project

Description

A year- long module in which learners undertake comprehensive self-directed art research and practice based on independent enquiry into a selected subject/theme. The process and outcome are contextualised within the critical framework of contemporary painting and visual art practices

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify a framework for self-initiated enquiry that integrates individual set goals with appropriate theoretical concepts related to contemporary art practices.

  2. Demonstrate the ability to respond and engage in personal and group seminars, and tutorials.

  3. Employ responsibility and exercise autonomy through self-directed study including critical evaluation  in  their working practice.

  4. Utilise technical skills and competence in workshop practice and materials including awareness of  health and safety issues.

  5. Develop competency in professional art practice and in the presentation of their art work.
