Contemporary Management Accounting

Description

To develop students’ knowledge and understanding of the evolution, influences on and contemporary directions of management accounting thought, practice and profession to an advanced level.

The module will build on the foundation of students’ prior studies in Management Accounting.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Evince an advanced knowledge and understanding of the origins, conceptual underpinnings and applications of management accounting;

  2. Apply their knowledge and understanding to the design, implementation and critical evaluation of management accounting systems in a variety of organisational contexts, including to organizational and behavioural dimensions;

  3. Contribute to the design of environmental management accounting systems

  4. Draw on critical perspectives on contemporary challenges and possible future directions in management accounting
