Creative Arts in the outdoors, provides learners with the opportunity to experience the potential of different artistic mediums and approaches that can be utilised in the outdoor environment for aiding in both developmental and facilitation processes.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Appraise the role that the arts can play in facilitating the holistic education and development of programme participants in an outdoor education context.

  2. Articulate a specific understanding of how the creative arts can provide a means through which the participant can develop a greater understanding of themselves within a greater community context

  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the potential the creative arts have to create an awareness and appreciation of the environment.

  4. Identify needs within a client group prior to the design of an arts programme

  5. Design, prepare and lead an arts programme based on an appreciation of client needs and underpinned with a clear understanding of the foundations of the arts in personal and social development and environmental appreciation.

  6. Articulate an understanding of the role an art programme can play in the development of an individual within a wider community.

  7. Value performance as a means of self expression and exploring issues within the outdoors.

  8. Debate the impact that environmental art has on the environment.

  9. Facilitate and arts programme within an outdoor context for developmental; purposes.
