Creative Ideation Process

Description

The Creative Enterprise Programme supports people to set up and build sustainable creative businesses in a variety of disciplines (TV & Film, Virtual Production, Games, Animation, content development, digital arts, AR, VR to name a few). Students completing this module will have an understanding of key concepts of entrepreneurship and the practice of entrepreneurship in the creative Industries. They will have considered entrepreneurship in terms of new venture creation.

This module will explore principles of Design Thinking, the evolution of Innovative Ideas and the principles and practices associated with creativity and innovation. It will expose students to frameworks and methodologies for idea generation, problem-solving and creative collaboration. It will provide the student with context and knowledge of fundamental business models, particularly in the creative industries sector. It will support the student to develop their business idea and commence detailed planning.

 

Learning Outcomes

  1. Develop and differentiate their business proposal and articulate their unique value proposition

  2. Formulate and evaluate their ideas, applying design thinking and critical thinking techniques

  3. Appraise, select and implement theories and methodologies of innovation and creative processes

  4. Investigate, evaluate and empathise with a broad group of stakeholders to identify their needs

  5. Demonstrate a critical understanding of opportunity generation, recognition and the venture start-up process   

  6. Evaluate the prospect of entrepreneurship as a viable career option within the creative digital sector.
