Development Evaluation

Description

This module examines the evaluation of residential and commercial property development in order to determine feasibility and commercial viability. It develops the student's commercial awareness of the complex economic, political and social context and the legislative and regulatory framework within which property development occurs. 

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate a commercial awareness of the complex economic, political and social context within which property development occurs and comprehend the complex legislative and regulatory framework it operates within.

  2. Identify the various land-use markets and comprehend how they interact with each other.

  3. Apply various techniques and principles used in town planning to selected development sites/ re-development opportunities and evaluate their influence in framing development proposals.

  4. Appraise the various issues and challenges that may arise in the property development process.

  5. Evaluate the feasibility and commercial viability of various property development proposals.
