Digital Systems

Description

This module will introduce the students to digital construction systems, including Building Information Modelling, Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental certifications, polices and procedures.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Develop a systematic framework for the management of quality, environmental and health & safety issues in construction Project Management.

  2. Evaluate the potential of digital systems to manage collaborative work practices and improve construction project performance, by minimising errors and increasing profitability.

  3. Analyse the pathway to BIM Certification, through the overview and structure of ISO 19650.

  4. Critique digital maturity at project-level and across the supply chain, using the information delivery cycle and comparing appointing party functions and capabilities.

  5. Applying advanced information technology skills (CDE, 4D BIM scheduling, 5D Costing)

  6. Evaluate the tender process, the Instruction to Tender, Tender Bid Writing and Tender Submissions.
