Module Aims: 

On completion of the programme, the graduate will have the ability to:

  1. Analyse and solve technical problems related to manufacturing environments through the application of engineering principles
  2. Conduct analysis of components, processes, and systems through the application of engineering principles and practices
  3. Prepare and critically analyse graphics and other technical documents to appropriate engineering standards
  4. Recognise the environmental, economic, legal, safety, and ethical implications of the manufacturing industry
  5. Devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service
  6. Understand the world of work and the role of an industrial engineer in society and the limitations of their own individual competence
  7. Analyse approaches to Enterprise Level Engineering using lean six sigma tools and methodologies
  8. Contribute to the specification and implementation of smart-technologies in the context of Industry 4.0
  9. Select appropriate operation engineering and process improvement tools when designing Supply Chain Systems
  10. Design and manage sustainability engineering, energy efficiency and energy reduction programmes
  11. Demonstrate knowledge in entrepreneurship and innovation in new venture design and development
