Learning Outcomes: 

On completion of the programme, the graduate will have the ability to:

  • Analyse and solve technical problems related to manufacturing environments through the application of engineering principles
  • Conduct analysis of components, processes, and systems through the application of engineering principles and practices
  • Prepare and critically analyse graphics and other technical documents to appropriate engineering standards
  • Recognise the environmental, economic, legal, safety, and ethical implications of the manufacturing industry
  • Devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service
  • Understand the world of work and the role of an industrial engineer in society and the limitations of their own individual competence
  • Analyse approaches to Enterprise Level Engineering using lean six sigma tools and methodologies
  • Contribute to the specification and implementation of smart-technologies in the context of Industry 4.0
  • Select appropriate operation engineering and process improvement tools when designing Supply Chain Systems
  • Design and manage sustainability engineering, energy efficiency and energy reduction programmes
  • Demonstrate knowledge in entrepreneurship and innovation in new venture design and development
