Event Strategy and Policy Context

Description

This module aims to provide learners with the ability to critically analyse and evaluate event strategy and policy in order to understand the real challenges and constraints which event managers face when planning and implementing strategies. The module integrates the application of individual key subject areas and focuses in particular on policy relating to the event industry.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Discuss the concepts and models of strategic environmental analysis in relation to the event industry.

  2. Evaluate the importance of a strategic approach to managing an organisation.

  3. Analyse, synthesise and evaluate the external and internal environments resulting in the formulation of a range of strategic options.

  4. Critically evaluate the current strategic and policy issues influencing the event industry.

  5. Assess and gain further insights into the future direction of the event industry.
