Family Health

Description

This module will enable the student to gain a greater understanding and develop knowledge and skills that will support them to make an effective contribution to the attainment of excellence in family health, and to the development of both the health services and health policy in relation to family health.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Critically appraise and apply theory in family health nursing.

  2. Analyse local, national and international influences and policies and how these relate to family health.

  3. Critically appraise the role of the nurse in the development and implementation of health care policy, in relation to family health.

  4. Critically analyse how early detection, assessment, intervention and evaluation help to achieve health and social gain.

  5. Discuss the role of the interdisciplinary team and voluntary and statutory agencies in responding to the evolving needs of the family in society.
