Film 3:  Fiction and The Creative Image.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate mastery of the skills needed to devise, develop, produce and direct a short film.

  2. Exhibit a highly developed visual and theoretical knowledge of film language and film form.

  3. Create individual, experimental work using a range of equipment.

  4. Analyse the function of mis-en-scene in relation to narrative and nonnarrative forms.

  5. Demonstrate a knowledge of the use of POV, blocking, camera motivation, and compositional relationship.

  6. Demonstrate mastery of the skills required to interpret and break down a script.

  7. Demonstrate a knowledge of the range of skills required to become a director.

  8. Set up a casting session and demonstrate an awarensss of an actor's potential and directability.

  9. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of crew roles and responsiblilites on productions both large and small.

  10. Demonstrate the critical thinking required  for self-evaluation of work through all the stages of production. 

  11. Communicate ideas clearly, have the ability to negotiate and contribute successfully to a team project.
