Film Studies: Critical Approaches

This module will enhance the critical and analytical skills of the learner through the examination of film style, approaches and social context.

1. Demonstrate a detailed understanding of how to analyse and evaluate films.

2. Outline the stylistic features, aesthestics and politics of various National cinemas.

3. Identify the key debates within film interpretation and analysis.

4. Locate and review contemporary European Cinema.

5. Participate in and contribute to seminars and discussions on Film theory.
