GMIT Mayo Graduation

Here is some information to help you prepare for your graduation day in GMIT Mayo.

 

1. Conferring Schedule - GMIT Mayo

FRIDAY, 23rd NOVEMBER 2018 Time      Venue    

Mayo Campus

Department of Nursing, Health Sciences and Social Care

Department of Business, Humanities and Technology

11.30 am  The Royal Theatre, Castlebar, Co Mayo

 

2. Non-Attendance at Ceremony

If you are unable to attend the conferring ceremonies, your award will be conferred “in absentia”.

The parchment will be posted (by registered post) to the mailing address you have provided to us, within two weeks of the ceremony.

If you cannot attend, you MUST complete this Notification of Non-Attendance Form.

There is a €20 charge for this service and this must be paid into GMIT’s bank account (details are on the form).

 

3. Robe Hire and Collection - GMIT Mayo

It is GMIT policy that all graduands must wear graduation robes for the ceremony. Robes must be pre-booked and pre-paid.

Please book your robes online at www.phelanconan.com from 5th October, 2018.

The cost of hiring a set of robes is €40. It is recommended that you collect your gown the evening before your graduation or at least an hour before the ceremony.

The venue for robing is Breaffy House Hotel Games Room.

Robes may be collected during the following times. 

  • Thursday, 22nd November, 2018: 6pm–8pm
  • Friday, 23rd November, 2018: 8am–10am

 

4. Photography - GMIT Mayo

A professional photography service will be available for Individual and Family photographs after the ceremony.

All class photos will be taken after the Ceremony. Graduates are asked to remain seated until they are called for their group photo.

 

5. Parking - GMIT Mayo

Parking will be available at the venue.

 

6. Refreshments - GMIT Mayo

Refreshments for graduates and guests will be served after the conferring ceremony.

 

7. Graduate Survey - GMIT Mayo

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) requires all third level graduates to complete a graduate survey nine months after they complete their course.

The survey will be emailed to you next April.
