Description

This module introduces the learner to the principles and practice of 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design using modern, industry standard software and processes.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply the features of CAD software to generate 2D presentation drawings and 3D digital models.

  2. Engage the features of CAD software to explore geometric concepts and principles.

  3. Consider and carefully formulate product assembly drawings and specifications in accordance with relevant standards.

  4. Prepare graphics using correct geometric relationships and proportions and transfer images from CAD software to ICT packages as an aid to compiling a document, making a presentation or producing a photo-real representation of a digital model.

  5. Appreciate the relationships between CAD, graphics technology, the individual, society and the environment.
