Health and Safety in The Built Environment

Description

This Module is designed to provide students in the Civil and Building Environment with an understanding of the duties and obligations of clients, employers and employees in relation to Health and Safety Operations in the Built Environment.  

Learning Outcomes

  1. Understand the principle duties and Obligations of employers and employees as outlined in Health and Safety Act 2005, General Applications Regulations 2007, Construction Regulations 2013 and relevant legislation to the Industry.

  2. Identify and recognise the important issues of Management Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the Built Environment.

  3. Understand and explain the Principles of Prevention in the Built Environment.

  4. Recognise the keys aspects of Safety in the Built Environment and the practical documentation and forms required.

  5. Recognise the Statutory requirements for compliance with the Built Environment Operations from Design to Completion .
