Hydraulics 2

Description

The student will learn to apply the classical theories of hydrodynamics to solving the most commonly required problems in pipe networks, pumped systems and open channel flow hydraulics. The learning will be assisted by the use of software and a well-equipped hydraulics laboratory.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Analyse and design water distribution networks

  2. Design efficient pumping systems for water industry uses

  3. Explain the various conditions of flow in open channels and solve flow profile problems

  4. Select and calibrate appropriate open channel flow measurement devices.

  5. Apply computer software and algorithms to solutions of problems
