Interior Design 4

Description

In Studio the learner proposes a project, agreed by academic staff, which endeavours to put into practice the skills and knowledge acquired to date. Thematic research generates a substantial body of concepts and possibilities. These are developed through a variety of explorations that test their viability. These initial responses are assessed in the context of relevant contemporary and historical case-studies which have been explored for ideas and inspiration. The development of this research is processed through exploration and application with sample materials in 2D and virtual space. These schemes are recorded in a series of detailed drawings and presentations including an e-portfolio. The resulting proposals will be implemented in Studio 5 semester 8.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Undertake and execute independent thematic research and apply conceptual thinking through design proposals that test those concepts.

  2. Test the rigour of their design proposals through peer group seminar.

  3. Explore various modes of simulated client engagement with regard to User Experience (UX) and Universal Access.

  4. Quantify and cost proposals in terms of budget, regulations, sustainability and user experience.
